Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how ValBuddy handles your information. ValBuddy is a companion app for Valorant that allows players to view their daily shop without launching the game. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Data We Collect
To provide its core functionality, ValBuddy requires you to log in with your Riot Games account. During authentication, we temporarily process your login credentials through Riot's official OAuth 2.0 system. We do not store your password. After successful authentication, only the necessary access tokens and cookies are stored securely on your device.
Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device. Authentication tokens and account information are encrypted and stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's secure storage system. Your shop data, preferences, and cached images remain entirely on your device. We do not transmit or store any of your personal information on external servers operated by us.
Third-Party Services
ValBuddy communicates with the following third-party services: (1) Riot Games APIs - to authenticate your account and retrieve your personal store data, account level, and rank information. Your data is subject to Riot Games' Privacy Policy. (2) valorant-api.com - a community API used solely to fetch public skin details, images, and videos. No personal data is sent to this service.
Authentication & Security
ValBuddy uses OAuth 2.0 authentication with Riot Games. Your credentials are never stored directly - only encrypted access tokens and session cookies are kept in the iOS Keychain. Tokens are automatically refreshed to maintain your session. All communication with Riot's servers uses HTTPS encryption.
Multi-Account Support
ValBuddy supports up to 5 Riot accounts. Each account's credentials are stored separately and securely in the iOS Keychain. You can add or remove accounts at any time through the app's settings.
No Analytics or Tracking
We do not collect any usage analytics or tracking data. ValBuddy does not contain any third-party analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or tracking mechanisms. Your gameplay data and shopping behavior remain private.
Image Caching
ValBuddy caches skin images locally on your device to improve performance and reduce data usage. This cache is limited to 100 items and 50MB. Cached data can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data. To remove a single account, use the account management feature in Settings. To delete all data including cached images and stored credentials, simply uninstall the app from your device. This will remove all locally stored information.
Children's Privacy
ValBuddy is intended for users who have a Riot Games account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age specified in Riot Games' Terms of Service. The app's functionality requires a valid Riot Games account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
